Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ: FAQ

How do I know that Business Continuity Partners is the right set of professionals for me?

To get to know us, we are happy to meet with the owners of any business, on a no-obligation / no-fee basis, for an initial consultation, normally via an online Zoom or Teams meeting in current lockdown circumstances.

What about confidentiality given the impact on the business, its staff and potentially its lenders?

As a set of seasoned professionals, Business Continuity Partners understands the extremely sensitive nature of these matters and will take all actions necessary to ensure that owners and managers are satisfied that all discussions and plans will be treated confidentially.  It is standard to sign an NDA upfront to protect all information disclosed or provided to Business Continuity Partners.

What fee structure does Business Continuity Partners typical offer?

Business Continuity Partners is acutely aware of transactional costs and the burden that this may place on already financially distressed companies.

Costs should however not be a hurdle to our core offering and an appropriate, flexible fee option will be sought with each company.

As illustrations, the following options are often typically proposed:

  • An hourly rate negotiated up front; or

  • Discounted hourly rate, together with an equity option negotiated up front and based on key agreed deliverables, exercisable at a future date; or

  • Expenses re-imbursements only and a larger equity option negotiated up front and based on key agreed deliverables, exercisable at a future date.

Importantly, any equity option:

  • can either be into equity or as a payment based on the equity value at that date;

  • will normally be capped at an agreed percentage, to ensure that the owners will maintain control at all times.

  • is based on the following logic, to:

    • limit the cash outflows at a time when they are needed to sustain the business; and

    • align our interests with those of the owners to ensure the survival and future growth of the business.
